DEFINE

Defining the problem is my first step, what are we trying to achieve? What are our expectations, deadlines? I like to create a project scope to better manage our time. Lets sit down identify the problem, and figure out where we’re at and where we want to be.

RESEARCH

In the next phase I do a lot of research. I’ll create mood-boards, personas and demographics. This is a very important phase because understanding the history will help create a cohesive brand or identity.

SKETCH

Once I am in the sketching phase, I’ll have a couple ideas from my research to sketch out. With a strong passion for drawing I enjoy sketching any ideas I have through out the day. Once I think I have a good idea, a couple more will pop up into my head. This is why you will most likely see me with a pad and pen in my hand.

REVISE

After I have some solid sketches I like to vectorize some of my best options as well as talk to other designers for critique. Once I have enough feedback I will revise the sketches. The revision process is the most important phase as this is where the magic happens. I enjoy this phase because you can see the ideas really come to life. After solid revisions in black and white I proceed with color studies.

RESOLVE

The final phase resolves and minor details in product or brand. As well as creating style guides for final review.
